What We Did Recently!

Adam Sweet

Adam played a memorable selection of blues including a number of his own songs to an appreciative audience @The Royal Oak on the 14th December.  Really excellent.

Lest we forget
Lest we Forget, the St. Peter’s annual Remembrance Service was taken by Rev. Canon Tom Moffatt.  Gill Self (who lived in the village until recently) played the organ.  At the appropriate time, Rex Greenway and Phil Wreford placed the sprays of poppies above the Rolls of Honour to Villagers for the two World Wars, remembering those who paid the sacrifice.  The well known words were said for us to remember them.

At 12.30 the bells of St. Peter were chimed by Jean Petty, Julian Stanley and Phil Wreford as part of the Centenary commemoration of 1918-2018.

Bonfire Night

A great evening was had by around 30 villagers on Sunday night 4th November 2018. A fantastic bonfire and a few beautiful fireworks accompanied by great food  and drink made it  an evening brilliant evening. Many thanks to Matt and Cindy for their great hospitality and excellent hosting of this event, we are looking forward to next year!!

The Great Village Get Together

The weather was disappointing to start but turned into a super evening with sun, eating, drinking and much enjoyed by those who came along!

A Great Egg Hunt 2018

The sun actually shone and a group of eight children and three babies enjoyed a wonderful hunt around the churchyard! A very big thank you to Richard and Solanche at the Royal Oak for providing the Easter Bunny with masses of lovely eggs which were appreciated by the children and also Chris and Liz who found  a few the children had missed!

Village Breakfast

On Saturday 14th April,  21 villagers came to the Community Centre to enjoy sausage and/or Bacon baps, tea and coffee and Toast and marmalade.  A Tombola was held and many thanks must go to all the generous people who donated the many prizes.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, despite the fall in numbers, compared to the last time it was held.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions how to encourage more local people to come, please let us know.

Anything honest and legal will be considered!!!
